You can safespot the bear but you will actually need to get stronger before you can face it So head to the cowpen, kill the cows Once you get stronger, you can kill the bear. Then head north to the Ranging Guild where there will be chickens near there. [Optional] You can head to the Seer's Bar and ask the bartender for stew there.
