this lunar method or making planks through a servant in your house are the safe methods, i highly don't recommend making planks at the sawmill (seen several pkers in that area), and if you can't do this, then here's the method for house-making planks:

get at least 30 const, then build 2 bedrooms in your house.  build one bed in each of the bedrooms (req for a servant)

go to the northeast house in ardy with that has the demon butler, butler, cook, maid, and rick in it, and talk to the cook (if you're 30 const - butler if you're 40 - demon butler if you're 50).  hire her, then go back to your house with your cash stack + noted logs/oaks/teaks/mahogs --- don't hire the maid or rick, they don't have a go-to-sawmill option once hired

find the cook in your house, and click on the noted logs, then click on her.  tell her to take up to 16 logs to the sawmill, and she'll take the nec cash + logs to the sawmill, and be back in a little while.  rates of servant abilities/times are here http://2007.runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Servant

have the cook bank the 16 planks when she returns.  the method gets pretty quick when you have a demon butler, i turned 2000 oak logs into planks in an hour and a half, which later i was able to take out from the bank again (servants can take things from bank and bring them to you) and get 75 const -- although you may just want to build oak larders in your kitchen as the demon butler brings you the planks (i rec 24 at a time, since 8 per larder) as that's more efficient
