If you read it properly it says everyone who enters the portal will automatically be MAXED STATS and then there will be a SUPPLY ROOM with every single piece of gear (including elys) to choose from. Therefore its a tournament about SKILL when it comes to PKing rather than "who can afford an ely or max gear". On the 24th of July we will be hosting the first ever RuneScape Competitive Tournament. You and four friends can fight in unique PvP arenas, using the best accounts and best equipment in Old School to win a share of $10,000! If you think you are among the best PKers out there, you now have the chance to prove it! We’ll be giving $5,000 to the first place team, $3,000 to the second place team and $2,000 to the 3rd place team. This tournament will be 100% online. Avoiding the hassle of bringing everyone to one location and allowing players to compete in the tournament from the comfort of their own home. Of course, the entire event will be live streamed on Twitch. This tournament will allow us to dip our toes in the competitive gaming scene and help us gauge whether there’s potential to host a larger scaled tournament at a venue like RuneFest. How will it Work? We will accept applications from 8 teams of 5 players, which will then go on to compete in 3 different game modes: First to X kills The first team to score X kills wins. Players may enter the battle at any time. Last Team Standing Players will have 1 life and 1 life only. The team with any players left standing will be named the victor. King of the Hill Players have to capture and control designated areas of the map to gain points until the limit is reached. Player Journey Once you’ve established a team of 5 and your application has been accepted, you’ll head to Clan Wars. There, you’ll find a new portal. This portal will grant anyone who enters it maxed stats. This means the winning factor will be purely up to skill and how well your team works together. But before you can enter this portal, your team captain will need to challenge another team captain. After selecting the game mode, map and rules, both teams will enter the supply room. Here they’ll find a range of top tier gear and supplies available at their disposal to maximize their potential on the battlefield. In addition, we'll be providing several new custom maps ranging anywhere from Lumbridge Courtyard to the Mage Arena. How Can I Apply? Players will find a link on the Old School homepage that will allow them to fill out an application. Applications will open on June 5th and close on the 3rd of July.
