Xlog still works, I do it a bunch of times. You have to deal damage to them first and let them deal damage to you. Then you get out a staff or something for example, pray up and xlog. 8/10 times you will be fine.

I would say keep agility, and keep str/att till 75hp insure it then get mage/str higher

Yeah after like 90str I would save it. Range counts as str and usually melee to alot better than range imo.
